Are you really obliged to give them ang baos? Fair enough if you give it to your parents/in laws and your siblings/their children but I personally don't think it's necessary to give it to your cousins especially if they are as old as you.

As for whether tradition is right or wrong , and should or should not be observed, that's another story which I won't go into ... no point grieving over something I can't affect

As long as you are happy and can afford it. It's a blessing to be able to give but when the tradition gets too far that it has become an obligation. It adds extra financial burden for newly weds who hardly have much savings.Originally posted by choco B:Well it's tradition so yes have to give

Just means that we cannot spend as freely as we used to do for that month itself -

back from lunch.. actually back from lunch a while ago...
was a Bugis... scoped out a great deal.. 2 cans of beer + Maxim + Maxim Calendar for $7
i bought that.. and in the words of my friend who was with me (he bought one too) i got a free magazine and a free calendar with my beer and he got free beer with his magazine and calendar
darn it.. got to do work now...

Good practice is to be short and to the point, but our management demands minutes that are practically transcripts -
