i think my boss is going through some kind of psychological problem or something right now...
everyone who is working with her is having problems with her... maybe it's stress or something..
my colleague in the section just came to complain that after a design has been finalised through my boss, then the division boss, she comes back and says she doesn't like it and it "looks weird"
it took a lot of cajoling by my colleague to get a grudging okay from the boss..
the committee she is chairman of, is also complaining that she's stressing everyone out by making them do and "make sure" of a lot of things which are inconsequential and pointless.. and there is a LOT of that from what i've experienced over the past few days...
the past few days, i've been on a wild goose chase because the boss refuses to believe what is true and what i have told her... went and got documentary proof, tracked down the people and they wrote in email about her queries, pissed them all off, and ended up with exactly what i told her in the beginning.. which she said was "not logical" but was...
i wonder how long before she breaks down..
actually, i'm being mean and evil but her breaking down could be a good thing for herself and everyone around here..

just throw off the inconsequential and pointless, take care of the important, and everything will work itself out...
she tries to micromanage everything and stresses herself out.. which makes her micromanage even more..

I think it's bad HR.
People like her should never make it to management... despite age & senority. Should just give her a specialized executive role or something so she can be fixedly anal about her job & not disturb other people -

that's a gag which is also a tragedy.. it is true.. the HR people are known by all to be self-serving and heavily into politicking..
in fact, there was one who was transferred into there (they thought they could manipulate him) and just went about doing his job, then going home.. in other words, he was not one of them...
he was pushed out by the HR sewing circle within 9 months... his posting there was supposed to be between 3 to 5 years!
i think he was glad to go.. he confided in us that he was miserable as all heck there, being reprimanded for everything even when he did everything correctly... as told from a clerical officer in HR, he was too straight and actually did the things told to him instead of "reading between the lines" and going the "politics" bit...
it's a sad state... but in a greater tragedy, the organisation has become desensitised to it -

which means i have to do a lot of unimportant and inconsequential things
i will have to write a paper about a "community engagement programme" which was doomed from the start.. this time to kill it... but i have to make it "politically correct" and pretty.. something i have no idea how to do...
i'll do it tho'.. maybe i just need strong drink or drugs

lots of stuff we do.. go give talks and stuff like that..
but this particular one, was talked about by the No.1 and picked up by the boss... so from an off-hand comment by the No.1, it became a "project"
the boss isn't from operations and doesn't know anything about operations.. but she thinks she knows.. and puts this project in black and white and i've been tasked to do it.. i tell her it's an exercise in futility.. she doesn't think so and after a lot of problems, all operational, the decision is to kill it..
thing is this.. i was from operations.. i saw everything coming, and told them.. they who were never from operations always think they know better than us about operations.. and attempted to force it through...

frankly, i have said it much to the anger of my boss.. that there is a limit to what we can do.. after that, it's pointless... those who want to violate our policies do it knowingly...
sadly, the information and data i have extracted say that.. they know what we are about.. they do it anyway thinking they can get away with it..
so public education is pointless.. engaging the community is also pointless...

at 4pm today some brass dumped a design change onto my desk, saying that it must be done by tomorrow morning ...
okie, fine, nevermind ... I told the boss that to verify my database code, I'd need some test data generated according to the new parameters .... boss arrowed another chap to do it ...
chap finished it at 5.10 pm and went home ....
and now, at 8.40 pm, after several frustrating hours, I realized that the data weren't real ops data at all, but fabricated dummy ones !!! ....
I am screwed !!! by someone else ~!!!!! .....
