You sure enjoy moaning huh?Originally posted by av98m:have to work mah. if not I'd sleep till lunchtime![]()
good moaning
I understand what you are saying but do you think the company will think that way for you? They might have given you a "verbal" offer but unless there's a contract sent out to you, I won't hold my breath for that. Most employers only look after themselves so learn to look after yourself too. Don't let the company who made the verbal offer to hold you back to miss out a good opportunity.Originally posted by shinta:hmm
cos some ppl say its no good... doesn reflect well on my side..
and i might get black listed or sth =X

Please do not get me wrong, I am not teaching you to be self-centred here however in a corporate world, we need learn to protect our "boundaries" between ourselves and the employer.
A friend of mine has been looking for a part-time job. She's been to different job interviews and each interview she made herself clear that she could only commit to the time (8am - 1pm) as they advertised for the job. Unfortunately each time she got the job, she only found out that she ended up having to work longer than what she should be doing. Sadly, she ended up having to quit each time.
It makes me wonder if the employers in Singapore understand the definition of "part-time". Or they simply try to exploit people to work "part-time" when it's supposed to be a full-time just to get out of paying them the benefits.
Some tips to consider.... If you do get a job offer from ACMA, and have received the contract, I think it's a courtesy to give PCS a call to tell them that you've got another job offer. If they are really interested in hiring you, they might match the benefits as you get from acma. What you are trying to do here is leaving a good impression of yourself with PCS (not "burning the bridge" ) that at least you are courteous and responsible enough to inform them.Originally posted by shinta:i was thinkin as long as i haven sign anything i can just join another co with better benefits etc... but someone else said it doesn reflect good and cos the industry might be small yadayada so i'm not really sure any more..
had a talk with nel abt this before.. he said as long as the offer letter have not reach u, it should be ok to consider another co.. cos it seems like pcs isn really keen to hire.. if it took them so long to send the letter to me.
oh well, acma did not call.. but just wanna be sure of what's ok before i say anything if they do call
ah will definitely give pcs a call.. cos if i really go with acma, they'd need time to get someone to replace me also right?Originally posted by honeymouse:Some tips to consider....
