I'd always wanted to give it a go, since shaving itches like a bint. It was done at Strip (Co-Ed outlets at Lido, Paragon and Cathay). I was a tad nervous and kept cracking jokes. As for the pain, it wasn't that bad. It varies with the region being waxed - the easier the hair came off (or the softer the skin, for which a putty-like wax was used), the less painful it was, and mine was the easier sort...just short 'mmm's escaped my mouth ( neneneneneneh to missqi ). Nothing's spared, not even my scrotum or arse-crack.
The damage? $60 for lads. Women get it cheaper as it's less complicated. And no alcohol, hot showers or sun for the next 24 hours, in order to avoid infecting or irritating the area. But the feeling's wonderful - it felt clean and sensitive to the touch.
The stubble appears slowly (a little itchy but a small fraction of that experienced after shaving) and a light scrub daily was all I did to clean once inpenetrable areas of my groin. It's been a month but my public hairs have been growing back very slowly. The carpet's thin and short and it still feels comfortable. Once it gets overgrown I'm going back!
