When i got money to spare to buy one. I cannot find one I like.
I will forever remember the one that got away.
It was a bronze antique statue of buddha smiling onto the water, when he attained enlightenment. Cost: S$13,000/-. Was available at Tomlinson Antique House. Friend's father did ever mention that he can let it go to me for $8,000/-. Sigh.![]()
Its expensive to me. Maybe cos I know they got them manufactured in bulk in Thailand or Cambodia.Originally posted by elindra:Oh you can buy from Barang Barang or Lim's Art Gallery
We got ours from Lim's
It's much cheaper.... about $100 bucks cheaper
I think it cost us about $150 - $200 after discount n all. Btw it is a solid wood carving in a frame.

I like the fact that the eyes looks 3D, not cut halfway with sharp lines. And the face looks good to me.

hmmm....very cool....mona lisa in a different medium.Originally posted by elindra:It's from Vietnam
Yes it does look 3D. What I like it's carved in a way that the play of shadows make it look like the head turns when you look at it from different angles

And its a long story. Involving my mother, brother, then boyfriend & freaking 2 nights crying at CGH's sidewalk over the mess of things that wasnt suppose to be my responsibility.
