Luckily the bike's ignition was still on and my dad managed to accelerate the bike to safety.
My own dad's a taxi driver, and I can see that he takes pains to check his rearview mirror and look over his shoulder while reversing his vehicle. Why couldn't that dumbass cabbie just now do the same? Sheesh...

When I tried to ask for an explanation in the relevant Speaker's Corner thread, I was labelled as a 'textbook idiot' for trying to use GCE A Level Econs to explain what a regressive tax is all about and why GST is such a tax.
Oh well. Each to his own.
At least being a 'textbook idiot' keeps me honest. -
In the 1st place, the poor dun spend much...
I believe those are high spenders and dun earn much.. maybe they could want more $$ -

ya like real, 2% increase to help the poor. if you watched cna ytd, the 2% increase is equivalent to 1.5b sgd a year. perhaps they feel that their own ministers are poor and need higher salaries.
