Speaking of renting rooms, I'm also thinking of doing so for the next semester.

I would stay in hall if I could get a place there...
But in view of the fierce competition for places, I have to consider renting a private room just in case if I fail to secure accomodation on campus.
the west isnt that hard to secure a living space.Originally posted by fudgester:As I said before....

Well, I've got to bear in mind that without accomodation in the West, I spend up to three hours a day on the road.Originally posted by viciouskitty74:the west isnt that hard to secure a living space.
But consider the outlay of cash required. Are you sure thats really necessary?
A bedroom, S$400 a month. One month advance needed. That will be $800 upfront. And Electrical? Use of cooking facilities, use of laundry items? Not to mention the bedsheets, blankets, tolietries?
erm i don't own a car and would have to give up 4 limbs, 1 head and some innards to own one........Originally posted by viciouskitty74:2 horus travelling? I ride also maximum 40 minutes from east to west.

I think it's actually possible to live on NUS leh.Buy a hammock or some sleeping gear with shelter and sleep in the park or some ulu corner.
Wash up at the sports hall or just borrow friend's hall shower facilities, keep a locker for your stuff.
Eat at canteen, study at library, hang out wherever

but that's a pretty inspiring movie ... everyone should go watch that ...
and if one really do move onto NUS, perhaps you can put that down in the autobiography 30 years down the line ...
