I once got interviewed by them for an undergraduate scholarship opportunity. It was at their head office at HarbourFront.
On top of the usual questions by their interview panel, I had to do all sorts of other things like a short presentation on time management and explaining the Carnot and Refrigeration Cycles to them.
On top of that, I had to fish a random object out of a small opaque bag and give an impromptu presentation on the object.
I ended up fishing out a mechanical pencil and coming up with some bullsh*t on why the pencil is one of the most useful inventions in the history of mankind.
And no, I didn't get the scholarship.

we get to buy & use the most expensive stationaries. I miss that budget. -

I've got two tests on Computational Finance tomorrow.
One right after the other.
They have a total weightage of 50%.

One thing about my lecturer... she doesn't seem to be able to grasp half of what she's supposed to be teaching us.
It has reached the point where she can actually get you confused over a point which you have already been able to understand beforehand.
Heck, this whole module is really, really weird.... even though it has to do with Computational Finance, it's being taught by the Physics Department. -
economics is actually done by the math department in a few unis because it is math...
and like you said, computational finance could be using some kind of mathematical models which the physics side came up with, so they may go with that...
i wonder whatever happened to the fella who postulated that the cyclical movements of the economic market was periodic.. and tried to reduce it to an approximate Fourier Series...Originally posted by fudgester:

hey, i'm not a mathematician... and economics has always been rubbish to me.. because if you scratch the surface, you will find it's all based on flaw upon flaw...

And really, with the way they're teaching us, it's more of an Introduction to Excel class than a true computational finance class.
