anyway, I now dedicate this song to the si gina:
(angelic voice of recruit)
When I was just a blur recruit
I ask my sergeant what will I be
Will I be PC, Will I be OC,
This what he say to me:
(raspy voice of sergeant)
BALLS to you recruit
This is not your father's army
The future's not ours to see
Drop 20 for me
(voiceover in background)
recruit: 1 sergeant, 2 sergeant!
sergeant: your sister is a man, your brother wears panties
recruit: yes sergeant!!

Because last night, after evening shift, two colleagues and I walked into a Greek joint and we ordered takeout. I ended up with a small pizza freshly baked on the spot and promptly ate 3/4 of it.Originally posted by the Bear:buhbye cult leader.. why eat crappy food when you can get good food is beyond me

A predominantly Western diet tends to be really fattening!Originally posted by the Bear:i'd kill for a good steak sandwich now.. but then, it's phshdae
Sometimes, we help ourselves to the sandwiches stocked in the fridge that's meant for the post-operative patients.Originally posted by the Bear:i'd kill for a good steak sandwich now.. but then, it's phshdae
eat some of the vietnamese food?Originally posted by Rhonda:Because last night, after evening shift, two colleagues and I walked into a Greek joint and we ordered takeout. I ended up with a small pizza freshly baked on the spot and promptly ate 3/4 of it.![]()
The pizza was really good! Plus, I didn't have time for dinner that shift.
So, since I've eaten Western food yesterday and the day before and for lunch today (Roast Pork with Gravy and Seasonal Vegetables, from a patient who was kept Nil By Mouth, muahahaha!), it's time for some Asian stuff.
I walk a lot now. Plus, I've lost that guilt about weight and all that. Doesn't bother me anymore. As long as my clothes get looser and looser gradually, as long as I'm moving about more and more, I'm as happy as a hermit crab in its new pearly shell!Originally posted by the Bear:thing is to exercise a lot more.. if i ate now the way i ate then, with the present level of inactivity, i'd be about 200kg
but at that time, we did a lot of backyard basketball, tennis and other insane things... that burns a lot of calories

Definitely!!Originally posted by hisoka:eat some of the vietnamese food?
I've eaten one such monster before... in two sittings though.Originally posted by the Bear:hmm.. post op patients..
uhh...
sarnie i'm talking about is: 3/4 inch thick steak, egg, bacon, ham, pineapple, fried onions, lettuce, tomato, (nix the) beetroot and (tasty.. hahahaha) cheese..
if a post op fella ate that, he'd die
i miss the viet food there.Originally posted by Rhonda:Definitely!!
I love the wide variety of food we get here! Melbourne is truly an awesome place to live in!![]()
Which part of town? In general, I stick to the places where I see a lot of Asians eating in.Originally posted by the Bear:wonder if the crappy "peony asian takeout" is still there in town.. the worst ever "food"
You can actually get good Vietnamese food in Singapore! I think there's a restaurant by the Singapore River, where the Museum is, called Indochine. They serve really good fare the last time I went.Originally posted by hisoka:i miss the viet food there.
and the rice rolls are nice![]()

And, I've eaten beetroot, not sure if it was pickled or something, in a sandwich in some event before too. Surprisingly, the beetroot tasted nice!
Ah, to the Richmond market tomorrow... going to get some fresh seafood to maybe cook some Combination Soup like a mini-steamboat thing, if my friend is keen on a mini-CNY feast idea.![]()
