Photos - Trips to the Countryside

Recently, honeymouse and mouse-hubby drove me to explore the far-flung places of Victoria!
(Thank you soooo much!! )
We went to pick Blueberries, then went to the Dandenong High Point (is that what it's called?
) during our first outing, which was incidentally also our first meeting! We also stopped by in a quaint little town, Olinda.
On our second outing, we went to the huge mall at Ringwood, then proceeded to the Maroondah Dam, stopping by for some really lovely gelato from a famous shop, "You Scream!".

Wide Open Spaces!!! What a lovely sight for these City Girl's eyes!
We were at a Blueberry Farm where we picked blueberries at A$9 / kg. It was really fun!
Look at those blueberries on the branch!
And look at my tidy heap in my little bucket!
After we had our fill of blueberries, off we drove to Olinda, where we had a scrumptious lunch at a small but very popular restaurant, 'Pies in the Sky'! Surprise, surprise, I had a really delicious Beef Rendang Pie! Sedap!
After that, in the dozey afternoon heat, we drove up to the Dandenong Ranges and here's a lovely view of Melbourne City from there! It just looks simply stunning!! Too bad it was a tad hazy that day.
And then, down the mountain we drove, making a short stopover at another scenic spot. Here, we can see the ... whatchamacallit ?Reservoir. (honeymouse, help me out here!
) and the stranger being immortalised in the photo is for scale.

The following Saturday, (which was last Saturday, 10 Feb 2007), we proceeded to the Maroondah Dam after a really mouth-watering dim sum feast at a Chinese restaurant in Ringwood.
Look at these awesome trees! Ye Olde Tree Spirits, wherefore art les sprites?
If my memory doesn't fail me, I remember honeymouse and mouse-hubby saying these were elderly gum trees.
And then, a quiet, meditative climb up these steps into our very own ... Secret Garden!
('Twas a 'quiet and meditative climb' cause I was kinda out of breath climbing those steps! 
)
And then, we saw...
Gazebo Ting Yuan Shen Shen! -
When we had reached the top of the Maroondah Dam, lo and behold!... look at how much the water level has dropped over the years!
I tell you, it was a looooooong climb to the top! But the view from above is sooo lovely!
We even spotted a lovely little oasis from our viewpoint up above!
What a very lovely day out in the countryside! All thanks to honeymouse and her mouse-hubby! -
