I get what you mean about the artifical looking color, but you'll have to go over to the botanic gardens and see for yourself. That's really what they look like -

Last one is actually the middle portion of a large flower, with yellow petals. And again, there was no sign identifying the species -

the week starting 22 Jan was the best... cool and windy with blue skies but yet not warm.....

That photo resembles a wounded starfish that's found itself with one leg wedged amidst the rocks and the situation seems hopeless... It's just a very 'deep' photo, open to interpretation. But that was the image it evoked in me... -
