A Nursing Agency is an employment agency that supplies nurses to work in hospitals as and when they require nurses. Lots of nurses here work in agencies because it's extremely flexible and they get sent on different assignements to different hospitals. There's a heavy reliance on Nursing Agencies, as well as the hospital's own Nurse Bank here to meet the headcount requirements in each ward of every hospital per shift.
Here, taking Sick Leave is no big deal, as long as you call in at least 2 hours before your shift starts. Back home, biangz... if you take MC, the ward sisters will scold you and accuse you of pretending to be sick and disrupting the ward staffing etc etc!
Never a 'Take care of yourself'!
Also, here, when you're on sick leave, nobody has a right to ask what sickness you came down with cause it's all 'confidential'.

Oh, btw Pinky Bear, the strange sms I sent you last night was because of this : my mobile / the network is weird, sometimes when I get an sms, it auto re-sends one of my old msgs to me.
Last night, I was falling asleep watching the Korean drama when I received a new sms and your old Christmas sms re-sent to me. I didn't check the date and since your sms was about some chocolate log cake that Chris might eat half of before you brought it over to your in-laws, I sent you that reply. Because I was half asleep liao, I didn't think to check the date of the sms. Sorry for the confusion!

ahhh.. one of these days, you have to watch that documentary about the cats in urban australia.. you will know how bad it is..

I've seen kangaroos and wallabees, but that's about it.
I usually keep my cats indoors anyways. I like to keep them clean and out of danger. If I own a townhouse with a backyard, I'll install some special fencing to keep the cats in so they can bask in the sun, but not be able to wander off and get lost. I cannot bear the thought of losing yet another cat... losing Cody was painful... -

It's very interesting here, there are shops selling equipment for you to brew your own beer at home! Almost followed a dude home when he stepped out of one such shop carrying two boxes - I wanted to ask if I could have a taste of his home-brewed beer! -
