Well, in other news, I'm going to get me a small compact I can carry everywhere with me, and shoot with it for a couple of months, and get some large prints done. If I'm happy with the results, I might just sell away my entire nikon system. I'm never going to do sports or events photography, so I do not think I need the speed. Besides, compact cameras are a lot faster today. And I've seen enough A3 sized prints from cheap compact cameras to convince me that you get get oustanding prints even from small compacts. -

how much is a compact?
hmmz any reccomendations for a video cam or digicam for a noob who doesn't know the next thing about taking picture/videos and is unlikely to learn due to an overly dense brain? -
The Casio Exilim is incredibly fast for a compact.
Once a shopkeeper demonstrated its speed to me... he waved his finger at high speed in front of the lens while taking a shot.
The camera actually managed to capture a pretty sharp shot of the finger.
