i'm thinking.. huh? he's a hardworking man who is engaged in an honest trade, making an honest day's wage.. wtf is wrong with those idiots who are not happy with them? they're happy with each other and in this world, happiness is in short supply so why are they making things difficult for them??
i've always figured an honest man who is not materially well-off, but works hard for his family to provide for them and loves them, is better than a billionaire looter tycoon who cheats on his wife and doesn't know the names of his children...

the economists got it wrong too.. they have not factored in a limit to the resources we can rip out of the planet...
the politicians just want the economy to go on, damn everything else... in that, the only way is to increase the population so that there are more consumers... however, with increased productivity, who is going to consume the product.. therefore they have to artificially increase consumption.. we're going on a death spiral.. but they don't give a flying about it...

i was telling my sister about it in the afternoon.
Her first reaction was: What do you mean by poor?!! Love can conquer all kinda talk.
But after a while, when she thinks back to her relationships....she admitted. In the end, it all boils down to money.
Told her why I do believe that some kinda love do prevails...
Got a g/f, my age, another 'o' level gal married a totally un-educated Lorry Driver and has 2 kids with him.
Its the one, with family income below $2k per month wan. the one that wants to buy osh gosh clothes for her kids.
though life is tough, she is at home, looking after the kids not working, while her husband is also helping to support her own aged parents. -
and then we discussed about my brother and his past relationships.
One of his ex, a gal his age, singapore diploma gal, has also aged parents and 2 school going brothers. Her parents are retired and though fairly decent, still demands money from her.
And my mother didnt like that. She felt the gal is not suitable, because she felt that her son should not be responsible of having to sustain his in law.
And that brought us back to the discussions of how many kids to support the parents issue. Where USA dont have the culture of children sustaining the parents blah blah blah. -

I am not saying that it's wrong to support our parents but I think we shouldn't go and have children with that expectation and for the wrong reason.
Same thing with parents to children, they should teach the children to provide for themselves instead of "sucking" all the wealth from the parents and depend on them only!
