  ehh, but the lost and found stuff will be disposed off after awhile. which is worse.

  and once you start to rationalise the wrong in order to soothe your troubled conscience, you start on the slippery spiral where nothing is wrong because there is a "reason" for your doing so...

  well so spending ur parents hard earned money is better then letting something go into a bin and get wasted? afterall, when u lost something, there is a small slight chance it went to the lost and found too.

  go to the Lost and Found.. to look for your own things.. but to take other people's? and know it's wrong but try to rationalise it away?

  I go to the Lost and Found section and claim a calculator which isn't mine.
  
  A few minutes later, another undergraduate who's a lot more cash-strapped than me and with a sick mother to take care of goes to the Lost and Found counter. He walks away empty-handed because I had already claimed his calculator as mine.

  let me say this clear, i for one has never done it, cause i haven't lost my calculator during my sch time.
  
  still, its not like the calculators will be going to some children's home to be of use or anything, its gonna be thrownn away. so when someone's tight, this is a desperate measure, but after the semester is done, return it.

  u guys needs to go make friends with a librarian, when u see the amt of stuff that is being thrown away then you'll know.they have stuff that is like kept there for 6 months and more.

  you have NO IDEA how "tight" my situation was.. and how bad i had to make do with an LED calculator that was handed down to me when everyone else were using liquid crystal ones..
  
  and how i had to share a calculator with my sister...
