i dont like losing items.
if I lose them, I considered them donated. if i can find them again, i can be happy, but if i dont, i can always look forward to a new item.
i dont like being attached to physical thing.
even a relationship, a man is considered a thing.
and i much prefers, that items that i lost, are being reclaimed/recycled for better use then i put it thru.
if someone needs to sell the items to make money to feed his family. i would approve it.
Think about the garang guni folks, or those poor housewives with kids rummaging at our busstops for 'empty drink cans' we '"lost". Or those old aunties rummaging for their next meal.
Just because I ride, does not mean I do not see the folks at the kopitiam, the roadside busstop trash cans or the kids that needs a calculator/pc/laptop. -
i believe, that principles, morals does not define a empty stomach.
People laughs at the poor, not at the prostitutes.
I think someone was only advising on where to go to help with going thru a bad time instead of moralising that action.
S$20/- can go a long way for some families. Used calculators, not collected at the Lost & Found, I believe are meant as donations to others who needs it.
here's a story:
a old man was boarding a bus, in the process, he dropped a slipper.
instead of riding away in the bus with one slipper, he took it off and throw that slipper off the bus.
When asked why he did that, he reply: I hope for someone to find that both slipper so they can use it more fruitfully instead of having only one slipper. -

the P-51 Mustang.. it was said the Hermann Goering said that if Mustangs flew over Berlin, all is lost... built with the same engine as the Spitfire, but with 4 times the range, it was the greatest of the WWII fighters
the A-10 Warthog, which was built around the GAU-8 30mm cannon which fires Depleted Uranium shells which will punch through any armoured unit with sheer kinetic energy, the ultimate tank killer
the F-15 Eagle, the plane with a 26:0 kill ratio.. never ever been shot down in combat, ever... the power and manuverability of the craft makes it one of the most feared combat aircraft ever
