rainy rainy rainy rainy..
wet morning here in Singapore...
when i woke up, it was still hot and humid.. then 2 minutes after, i heard distant thunder... and when i got out of the shower, it was raining very hard
days like these, i wish it was a weekend for a day to laze in bed

That's Australia for you. It has such an extreme climate.... heavy rain in one state and drought in another. However, despite of the heavy rainfall up North, most states in Australia (WA, SA, VIC, NSW & QLD) are still suffering from drought.

yeah.. but one thing i do miss from my 3 years there is the change in daylight times.. long days of summer and the long nights of winter..
somehow, changes like that spice up life a bit
was talking to one of the embattled fellas in the senior management.. actually, he's more the guy who has to do everything for his boss who has a 2,537th dan in Taichi... frankly, his boss and him? their places should have been switched around but hey.. i think they figure the guy who can do work should be subordinate to the guy who cannot...
poor guy is basically running the whole thing..
anyway, we were talking about how tired normal Singaporeans seem to be.. last Friday, i was tired i kinda passed out in the evening and woke up past midnight... and that's not the first time..
yesterday, i slept so much from sheer fatigue it was almost hilarious...
he looks tired too...
i need a break.. i think after the stupid video we're producing is done, i'm taking a week off or something.. -

Feel so much better after a good night sleep.... give me more motivation to do the housework when I get enough sleep. That's why after cleaning the house and finishing the ironing in the afternoon and I still had the energy to cook the braised duck wings for dinner and pavlova for tonight's dessert. -

Just back from Legoland.
Jetta's hubby has been very nice to drive me 1hour to Legoland to meet up with my family on my way home.
And guess what, on my way to San Diego on the Amtrak, met one very nice handsome young man who was on the cruise last month.
He is on his way to San Diego with his friends. We chit chatted a bit and its nice to meet someone I know on the train.
It was great at Jetta's place. Ate her lovely moist Chocolate cake, scones & loves her house. It was small, but very very comfy. I really wish my little 3 room flat has her kind of home flavour. Maybe its because we are Singaporeans, so we are used to homes that is small, efficient & comfortable with furnitures that we love. -
let me offer you a scenario of what i have to put up at work...
the Deputy Director asks my boss about issue of shoes to us officers.. casual question.. do we send our requirements as a division or individual branches..
it is a casual question.. we usually send individually to the supplies people, who is run by my bowling captain.. she doesn't care as long as each person has shoes in her giant list..
instead of just telling the DD about "oh.. individual branches" which she knows, she asks us to go look through the file to "make sure"
uhh... we don't file these things.. why the hell should we file crap like that?
so after going through a heck of a lot of files, and looking through a pile of archived email (consisting of a lot of crap by her), we had to tell her "no records but last year, you didn't need shoes, colleague didn't want shoes, i went myself to my bowling captain and told her all that and measured myself for shoes"...
she then went to ask someone else in another branch if they had records...
somewhere along the line, the "Cut Red Tape" course instructor explodes in spontaneous human combustion -

I ee that your boss is the kind of person who likes to be in control of things and will do everything she can to make sure that it is that way.
