That's good... cause life is just going to get tougher and tougher and it's going to get harder and harder to earn that bit of money to survive on and feed the family.Originally posted by sbst275:For me

I hope they've made provisions for barricades and spectator safety!Originally posted by sbst275:The proposed F1 rt is like this

It will go round the Swissotel and Fountain of Wealth

The old days when our parents can make a living AND feed their grandparents and keep everyone warm, well-fed and happy, will only be possible in the future if you're earning really big bucks cause of the continually high inflation rates, cost of living and housing, and etc.![]()
Its the same for USA.Originally posted by Rhonda:In Singapore, most of the elderly don't have a good independant spirit. Most of them, when they are just a little bit ill, act like they are on their deathbed.
Over here, they can have a huge operation, like a Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, and by the third day, they are up and about with determination!
The elderly are also very practical here. They talk to their children about what kind of funeral arrangements they want, and sometimes, they even pay for their own funeral package, so they won't burden their children upon their death!
I really admire their attitude!![]()

I actually find it pleasant to nurse the elderly here, who tend to have such strong independant spirits and who are generally very uppity and positive about life in general. Even at that age, they are still learning and keen to experience life!Originally posted by viciouskitty74:Its the same for USA.
jetta even found me job adverts for folks to function as live in caretaker for such folks.
I was seriously considering taking up such positions. Except that I dont have a green card and its going to be kinda lehchey.

Yeah! That's how one of my colleagues deal with patients and their families who keep pressing the buzzer for wee little things and who won't do a thing for themselves.Originally posted by elindra:Put it this way VK, she is gonna miss you lots when you return to SGcoz she has to do the chores herself

She says, "I'll help them all they want, cause in the back of my mind, I'm thinking, 'Ha! Wait till you go home and have nobody to be at your beck and call, then you'll really suffer, you lazybones!'"![]()

Though domestic maid are cheaper and long term.
The confinement nanny are expensive though. Only good for a few months after you given birth.
My g/f had bad experiences with mothers or mother in law offering to help with confinements...so unless you know your mother or mother in law had really helped with confinement very recently. its always better to employ one.
