reading the Sue Townsend book The Queen & I and starting to find it boring...
may start on the Murakami books.. they're always great books to read -

dad's fricken hilarious
after i threw away ALL his floppy discs and made him use a thumbdrive, he's still confusing himself by saving craploads of documents in places he can't find
he saves a document in the thumbdrive, then go looks at his backup and insists that "he cannot save"
i keep telling him to keep only one version and that the thumbdrive is safer than anything he's ever known but he insists on his "backups" and then gets confused...
and when he saves his stuff on the HDD (don't ask me why when he's already got it on the thumbdrive), he doesn't remember the path and there's probably a hundreds of documents floating around in there.. -

I nowadays travel with 2 army kit bags.
Use both as one bag sometimes when I dont have that much to carry. One inner & one outer. It serves as protection against breakage or spills.
Cos when I have too much stuffs to bring back, I can spilt them out to become 2 bags. And packets of cable ties are disposable and works well enough w/o need for extra lock for a extra bag.
Some carriers may be particular to what you can bring on your carry on.
So I have a army full pack or a back pack to use as carry on. Use either of them depending on what I will be doing when travelling. Full pack for hiking, camping. Backpack for carrying just a water bottle, towel/blanket, passport, ticket & book.
camera and handphone, I throw into the luggage during checkin. Thats why I only cable tie my luggage at the check in. -
I always asked for a window seat, so I can use the towel/blanket as my pillow to prop at the window for snoozing. Plus....I dont need to go toliet often.
The airplane usually supplies blanket. I always use it to cover until my feet, then secure the seatbelt over it, then my own blanket to either prop my lower back or use to prop my head.
Water bottle is used to take water from the airport to drink when I see one, so I wont be wasting money buying bottle drinks at stopovers. Always empty out your bottle before you board the plane though. Great for touring since most tourist attractions has water cooler dispensers everywhere.
Buying the drinks at those tourist spots is very very draining of your pocket.
for above 3 days stay: You should have:
3 sets of underwears; 3 pairs of socks; 2 sets of sleepwear (Be it boxers, comfy big t-shirts or something you can throw over in a jiffy even when you sleep nude.)
1 pair of slippers to wear in the bathroom (crocs are the best!) & a pair of hiking/running shoes.
3 pairs of jeans & 3 pieces of t-shirts, one with a collar.
Can easily get disposable shavers, shampoos, showergels & cleansing products at the country you visiting. Toothpaste, tooth brush, mouth wash, sunscreens moisturisers too. -

can tie just before it goes into customs.
afterall, if the customs officers insist on opening up your bag after going thru the x-ray, they can cut it themself and you can put in a new cable tie after its done.
i prefer to tie it on just before luggage check in, cos I can throw in more stuffs or dig out more stuffs from the bag at the counter doing the check in. -
i forget to add.
this is recommended outfit for flying long hours.
long sleeve comfy t shirt
comfy thin material jeans
comfy socks
comfy crocs
and a lightweight jacket tied on the waist or in your hand carry on. bring along packets of wet tissues & packet tissues.
And if you are worried about germs, a mask & drink some product called 'airborne' 1 hour before you fly. -

I just found a hole in my jeans, near the crotch area!
So embraressing. One of my favourite pair of jeans some more.
Its cheap though. S$10/- from 'Shop In' stores.
Dunno should patch it or just junked it. Wait patch, look very obvious, near embraressing spots.
Even my sister was just joking with me that I must be rubbing it too much that it got a hole in it for easier access. -

a leg of my jeans fell off before.. when i was out and about
usually, i wear my jeans until they fall apart.. even when there are holes, i'd wear them.. until one day, the front tear met the back tear.. and a leg fell off
thought of turning them into berms but it was almost threadbare already and a hole was about to appear in the ass part..
so i threw them away when i got back to the hostel -
