RE: PS3. I guess it's because they're frantically trying to sustain/garner interest in their product. Since the Wii, it's been sitting on shelves taking up precious retail space. Retailers cannot keep the Wii in stock. Many stores aren't taking reservations and don't even know when their next Wii shipment, if any, will come in. -

the Wii is killing the other 2 consoles because they wrote fun games which go well with the nun-chuck controllers...
the other 2 fell into the trap of "my console is more powerful" with MicroSloth alienating their segment even more when they released an even more powerful machine recently, the Xbox360 Elite (there's that word again ) -
in the end its really only the games that matter and they should only make consoles to allow for the games and make consoles for the sake of it

the different segments of the market...
while Microsoth and Sony went after the "hardcore" gamers by putting out an insanely powerful console for the publishers and writers to take advantage... this is for the loner who plays in his dungeon.. not a pretty sight..
Wii went after the "family entertainment" segment.. and scored a massive hit because the whole family can play, or a single gamer can play... mostly, Nintendo makes "party games" where a lot of players play silly and fun games at the same time without the pressures of performing well...
