Is there anyone in here who might be interested in travelling to Korea to discover Seoul as well as explore the countryside, beaches, National Parks, etc?
I'm talking about late 2008 or 2009! 
A leisurely 2-3 week 'immersion' tour!
Thinking of including one or two night's stay at a Buddhist temple in one of the countryside areas, just for the experience.

oh, the stupidity of things in the office...
a few fire doors jammed during the last fire drill.. i don't know why because they're manual things.. you turn the knob, it opens.. how they got jammed, no one knows...
so, now for the next drill, they have installed Electromagnetic Locks.. which will open when there is a fire or smoke alarm...
only thing is that, there isn't a switch for us to open the door when we want to get out... we have to smash the "break glass" thing...
uhh.. we were using those stairwells as a shortcut out of the building.. the stairwells allow us easy exit and therefore are not jammed..
now, they have discarded the foolproof locks with things that will screw up and called it progress...
as one of the fire safety fellas, i have demanded an axe or a heavy crowbar in case the door jams... saying that i'd rather have a simple mechanical lock than an insanely powerful magnet which will screw up holding the door closed...
they looked puzzled.. mumbling something about technology... and the cost they incurred installing the new EM locks..
again, stupidity reigns.. a cheap foolproof simple low-tech system has been replaced by an expensive, buggy, irritating and useless high-tech system... -

Oh, Bear, the next time you go to Kino's, could you please hop over to their travel guides section and see if they have different guidebooks on Korea on their shelves please? I already have the Lonely Planet Seoul and Korea guidebooks but was wondering if more guidebooks would be available. Thanks!

Anyway, I think whoever made the decision to use the electronic system is clearly insane. There are DOCUMENTED cases of such systems failing and they still want to spend the money to put everyone's lives at risk?
I'd ask for an axe and heavy crowbar myself. And a heavy duty bolt cutter that can be used to cut thick metal chains. Again, there are so many documented cases of fire escapes being jammed or worse, chained up and locked.
That nice high tech system your people have installed(and whoever initiated it will get a nice promotion or PB out of it I'm sure) may end up killing people one day. -

nope.. the fact that the DVD itself has not been cleared by MDA = it is controlled...
by rights, every single DVD and VCD or any show at all that is in Singapore has to have the MDA sticker and has passed through MDA...

FCUK.. I JUST CALLED CGH AND THEY TOLD ME MY MEDICAL REPORT IS STILL UNDER PENDING..WTF..
THEY TOLD ME 2-3 WEEKS AND I'LL RECEIVE IT, AND NOW THEY TELL ME 2-3 WEEKS IS TO PROCESS IT.. WTF IS WRONG WITH THEM.. I NEED IT FOR MY MEDICAL CHECKUP ON WEDNESDAY..
