How far away is the chicken meat from the cat? Some cats don't like chicken coz it's not smelly enough. Canned cat food works better (eg Friskies canned tuna), and try to put the food near to the cat (1 to 2 ft) so it can see and smell it. I guess it's now too scared to come out, and they can sometimes hide for hours. The first cat I rehomed was a persian and it hid at my home for 24 hours before it finally came out to eat the wet food.
There's now a thunderstorm at my place....and one of the cats is now hiding under the sofa. -
