  Don mind me intruding in the chatterbox. I don't think so. Something similar is already in my sch and iam referring to the dustbin and the guy inverted inside. Of course the guy is made out of foam. lol

  Yeps Cannot offend anyone mah. This is Singapore. Unless its for a good cause i suppose den no one will get arrested. My arty friend wanted to try something similar but she backed out in the end cos she was afraid some pple whom doesn't understand might mistake her for some mad woman. Then again Singapore government is always promoting for the arts scene to be more vibrant and all... hmm maybe I shld persuade her to try one day.

  Promoting the arts is not so much about charging $600 million durians to the taxpayers...
  
  It has more to do with allowing it to flourish with a minimum of interference.
  
  Dollars to donuts say that none of them were ever trained in the arts and chose to approach it the totally wrong way - with a big stick.

  Yeah they must stick their nose in everything. Just like how some countries are able to mock at their politics but Singapore u say one word. Lol and ure literally dead.

  The way I see it, there's too much misguided paternalism at work at here. They feel that they know what's best for Singapore and impose it with a heavy hand... without realising that sometimes allowing something to nurture is to allow it to run with a minimum of interference.
  
  It's just like how they feel that creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit can be nurtured through lessons in the classroom... totally laughable. And they couldn't even do it right - my batch was the test batch for Project Work in JC, and I remember my teacher kept shooting down proposal after proposal that my group submitted on the basis that they were 'too unconventional', 'too far out of the box', 'just keep it basic' and what have you...
  
  Needless to say, during the presentation when we were asked for our opinions on Project Work, I blasted it totally: 'What's the point of nurturing creativity in this way if we're NOT ALLOWED TO THINK CREATIVELY?!?!?!'

  it's got a lot to do with being a bunch of control freaks who cannot let go...
  
  just like the bosses i have.. they are into micromanaging everything that even when you can do it better.. because they cannot trust themselves, they feel they cannot trust anyone else.. and from there, they will never ever let go..
