Reminds of of this AA thread about this guy who said that he would get depressed if he didn't manage to stay in RJC after getting his A Level results. According to him, he wanted to be in RJC because it was 'a good school' and because of the 'quality of its name'.
KNN... then the other JCs are all bad schools with lousy names, huh?
He also said that 'RJC would make me a better person'. If that's the case, then has my JC made me a terrible person then?
Everyone gave him a pretty good shaking and took him to task for his shallowness. The sad thing is that he agreed that he was being shallow but insisted on sticking to his course. Sigh...
I told him point blank that with that kind of mentality, he would be given hell upon enlistment in two years' time... it remains to be seen whether or not he believes me.
Disclaimer: I have nothing against RJC personally, and I have several good friends from that school. Heck, my own brother is an RI/RJC alumnus. However, I do have something against those who think that being in RJC makes them greater than everyone else. -
