Pho is right in my alley! About five mins' walk from where I live and it's right in the heart of Victoria Street where you can eat all the Pho you want!Originally posted by the Bear:sure..
but i ain't eatin' no wanton noodles there
it's souvlaki, pho, gelati and all kinds of stuff
frankly, i love schnitzels at the little cafes.. and also steak sandwiches
How about chicken parma? One of my colleagues always ordered chicken parma everytime we had lunch at some local pub. I had it once or twice but not that keen on that.Originally posted by the Bear:sure..

Recently, I did buy a slice of Lime Cheesecake which was superb, and a slice of Choc Hazelnut Cake. Sadly, I threw the choc cake away cause it had dried up in the fridge and was unpalatable.Took too long to get to eating it.
What a waste!
The bread though, are all soooo very hard! Teng kok kok!!I prefer our bread here. The crust there is so hard that sometimes, when I try to bite into it, I feel like my teeth might get stuck in the crust and come out of my mouth, just like in the cartoons!

I have an oven you can use. But Coles actually sell the Pavolova shell, ready for you to put toppings on it and I heard from some colleagues that it's actually not bad.Originally posted by the Bear:meringues and pavs are wonderful
i can't bake to save my life.. else, i'd try the recipe the wonderful Nigella Lawson offered.. it looked almost as good as her
Originally posted by honeymouse:Talk about pho.... I just had that for lunch this afternoon. Friday I usually go out for lunch with colleagues. Very soon I will have no lunch "kaki" since they each resigned.![]()
My hubby and his brother had rabbit stew at the winery last year when we took my father-in-law out for Father's day. They are not that keen on the rabbit and they said they probably wouldn't have it again. I can't comment since I haven't had it before.
Hopefully when bear comes next year, I will get a chance to make you my (& your) favourite pavlova. I haven't tried making Lemon Meringue pie before.... perhaps I might give it a go when you are here.![]()
