  Are you sure they're asking you to submit the original documents, and not certified true copies of them?

  there was going to be a walk on the landfill island by my rec club but i got to work that day

  get the originals sighted and certified by someone with the authority...

  Dunno if it's still the case there, but when I was still in SG, I'd bring the original document and the copy to a bank, and the legal rep there would verify the authenticity of the copy, then stamp the copy with 'Certified True Copy' (or words to that effect) and sign the stamp.
  
  Can anyone else confirm if it's still done this way in SG?

  i think some people like the police or something like that.. i forgot.. it was about 7 years ago that i was made one of the people in my organisation to certify things.. for one year
  
  maybe justice of the peace also have the authority..
  
  no rush right? i go ask on monday...

  Go to a bank branch and find out if they offer the service. That's how I did it back in the late-80s.
