Ok he secretly bought some flowers and hide in my dad's car
He borrowed the car from my dad on the pretext of celebrating our birthdays
Mine's on 27th, his 29th and he chose the proposal date right smack in the middle of 28th July
Anyway his surprise was spoilt coz he couldn't find a parking spot and I was starting to get impatient and hissy and when he parked the car I stepped out immediately. We went to the resturant and then right after dinner my cousin called me up asking if we wanted to go to Zouk with my cousin who just came back from USA
Anyway I said I will just meet up with them but not go to Zouk. We can give them a lift if they wanted At that time we were at Meritius Mandarin and they were at Taka. So I said lets walk over.
So we walked and he didn't say anything till right outside Taka, near the fountain he say err wait ar can I talk to you about something first.
I was like...we can talk and walk at the same time
Then he was like just wait a bit la. Sit down
Then he started heeing n hawing about how we met and together for some time till I was fed up and asked him," You want to ask me to marry you issit?"
Then he said," Yah"
Then I said," Wah liao want to ask then ask la. "
He was like" What if you said no"
Then I said," Then you try proposing again"
He said," So it's a yes or no"
I said," yes"
Then we hugged n kissed and walked to my cousin but along the way I told him and should have been meaner and made him get on his kneels and I asked him where r the flowers and he said "It's in the car" -

We're good, thanks! I just get a little stress at work at the moment after 4 of my colleagues took turn to resign (almost once a week)...... I will be left with all the newbies. Oh well, life goes on. If the situation doesn't improve, guess I will joining the departure lounge too. -

Pork jelly is really pork trotters cooked and boiled for a long time till the collegen comes out and with it's stock and then you peel the meat and place it in a tray with the stock and you put it into the fridge and it will become pork jelly!Originally posted by Rhonda:Pork jelly... never tried and maybe won't. Didn't know the situation was so bad!
Today, I flipped the jobs section and saw two jobs in the public hospitals here that really really attracted me but I had to remind myself that to achieve my goals, I have to take it slow and steady and not be too impatient and end up ruining things.
I know when I'm ready to make the move, my time will come.
I'm ever hopeful!
BTW, I took a sickie last week! I had a bad headache after work, and was too ill to go out to get dinner so I thought I'd heat up a can of Heinz soup and the next thing I knew, I had food poisoning! So, it was a totally valid sickie! -

You don't have to worry about not getting a good job, there are lots of them and the demand will only get higher. So like you said, just take it slowly. Once you get your PR you will be able to apply any job you like.

Anyways, it's not new that senior management only care about giving themselves perks and other financial gains whilst going about their cost-cutting measures by retrenching staff at the operational level who are really needed to get the jobs done in the first place! Sigh... selfish bastards! 
There are so many nurses in leadership positions in my ward who are really hopeless. The consolation is, everyone else knows them to be hopeless! It's easy to not let things eat into me though, cause everytime I almost go crazy, I remind myself of the pay I'm getting here, compared to back home! Money does sweeten the deal somewhat!
I've been taking courses so far, and I'll continue to because I want to improve myself, do revisions on my own, and basically get up to par before I enroll in post-grad studies here after my PR has been granted. Whilst waiting for the PR, gotta learn how to drive so that it'll be easier to get around in future, should I get a job in another hospital. -

I think I'll go for a follow-up checkup on that elevated blood pressure of mine after the exams. I'm starting to wonder if it's related to my increasingly-common migraines. -

A systolic BP of 140 isn't all too high, if it weren't for the fact that I'm (a) 24 this year, (b) a non-smoker, (c) a non-drinker, (d) a regular exerciser, (e) no known family history of hypertension. -

It's good that you continue to improve your nursing skills..... I guess you really need to do that otherwise you won't get any new opportunity.
