Don't know... it will be an all-expenses paid trip by mom and pop!Originally posted by honeymouse:Regarding the trip to Perth, how much does it cost altogether? I know usually $60 is only the airfare and not including taxes. Oz taxes as you know can be quite costly.... at least $200++
Anyway, will be good for you to see Perth. Just read the paper today saying that Tiger air is going to make Melbourne their base in Oz so that should be good. Looking forward to cheap holidays....![]()

There was a real case in Melbourne where a Telstra employee committed suicide due to unreasonable work demands. Her parents are suing the phone co and even the govt is launching an investigation into the incident.Originally posted by av98m:When that happens, pigs will fly

Apparently, she was a good worker and despite meeting her sales target 100%, they 'rewarded' her by raising up the next target to 300%!!!![]()
She basically overworked herself till she got so depressed and disturbed, she quit and sought counselling, then still unable to overcome the burnout and depression, she committed suicide.
I'm glad the Melbourne govt is taking this seriously!

This morning, the ICA staff didn't even bother to stop me when I walked through the "Nothing to Declare" exit!
They didn't even X-ray my bags and all!!

I even paused near them for a while and looked at them but they didn't even bother to look up from their conversation to ask to check my luggage!!
TMD!!! If I had known, I would've brought it along! But don't worry... I still have something for you!

I used to work in Compaq. Turnover was extremely high, I saw burnout in the staff, including the executives, and I myself was extremely burnt out by the time I resigned. It was a lot of money, a lot of prestige, a lovely corporate gold card, but in return, you sold your life, or whatever meagre semblance of it.Originally posted by laurence82:i almost got a job in HP![]()

not like me, always kena check ><
If you want liquor, buy it from Melbourne Airport before coming out. Australia has the cheapest duty free alcohol. Last time when I came back from my Singapore trip, I help my colleagues to get some.Originally posted by Rhonda:I stood in front of a whole shelf of Golden Honey Choya, Choya, and Herb Choya just now in Duty Free and thought, "Should I?"
In the end, cause I haven't changed money, and cause I don't want mom and dad to nag, I didn't.
Nevermind... there's always Duty Free upon departure!
Wonder how much liquor I can bring into Melbourne...

Maybe, maybe Bear told his colleagues that I lead a 'sheltered lifestyle'.Originally posted by laurence82:tee hee
I know you need to declare it when you buy it from the duty free shop. Just declare it to be safe.Originally posted by Rhonda:They don't have CHOYA there.
BTW, can I bring liquor in? I know we have to pack them into the luggage but how can I do that when you need to check in your luggage before they allow you to enter into the departure lounge?
ALAMAK!!! Forgot I'm going to Perth!!Originally posted by honeymouse:I know you need to declare it when you buy it from the duty free shop. Just declare it to be safe.

I worked weekends, either turning up in the office or working from home. And on weekdays, I could never ever leave the office during my official end-of-day because the work just could never be finished and my boss would question why I was leaving "So early".![]()
We weren't paid for overtime even. In the end, everyone's morale and productivity dipped and I even saw a few people break down and cry.It was also 'common' for the accountants to stay in the office till about 3am, go home for a nap and quick change of clothes, then return to work again during month-end closing!!
