And besides, it's pretty difficult for a non-Chinese guy to get tuition assignments. Most parents strongly favour Chinese females. No kidding. I've been poring through the tuition assignments posted on the net, and many of them will ask for things like 'Females only', 'Chinese-speaking only', or 'Only Graduates/NIE trainees/current schoolteachers need apply'.
The sad thing is that I actually got THREE separate tuition offers last month... but I was forced to turn all of them down thanks to my academic commitments. None of them were willing to wait till this month for me to start teaching. -
