sure you mgith thinkt hat thebus driver might have overdid it, cause in our dailylives we soo many of this type of cases, but the bus drivers just let them go.
here is 1 bus driver who decides to uphold the rules, and ends up paying the price for it. if every bus driver followed him, this case would not have ended up like that. -

it could have happened. the boy saw the old man grab the girl, thought the girl was being hurt, first impulse was to punch. maybe wrong under law, but doesn't sound that bad to me.
you can be doing your job and yet doing it the wrong way.
i'm talking about the punching not the giving up of the card, which btw is a great inconvenience too, though i guess no choice they make the rules. -

if we allow this sort of reasoning in court, no policemen would dare to catch ladies

I remember reading that there is no lack of witnesses in this case. In fact, when the boy started assaulting the bus driver, one male passenger came forward to break up the fight with almost everyone else on board scolding the boy for his actions. The article made it sound like it was a unanimous response by the passengers to chide the boy and put him in his place.
SBS also released a statement saying that their bus driver did everything right.
The driver did say that he was shocked to see the boy's dad kneeling to beg for forgiveness on behalf of his son. He's a father himself and so he understands that only a father's love would let a man resort to this. -
