It'll be uncomfortable, it'll be embarassing, but at least it would help determine sexual compatibility.
That said, while I'm a non-advocate for pre-marital sex, I won't stop others from doing it if that's what they want to do. The only thing I would do is to advise them to be responsible about it and be aware of the potential consequences. -

I can't imagine any mothers believing or really expecting in their hearts that their sons will stay virgins till marriage.
They know what dogs men are - they married their husbands!
(above is just my opinion ) -
I guess it might be easier for two virgins to decide to practice abstinence before marriage.
But if you have one who's already sexually experienced, he/she might have preconceived 'expectations' and might get 'disappointed' with the performance of his / her spouse.
I'm being very realistic here, cause not everything should be viewed through rose-tinted glasses and I've heard too many accounts of marriages hitting rough waters because of sexual incompatibilities. -

For one thing, while I hope that I will be the one whom my Mrs Coyote gives her virginity to, I'm also not expecting that to be the case as well. If it turns out that some other man had already done it with her, then I would still be able to accept her one way or the other.

Ugly stuff like that comes out in nasty arguments when mud is slung at each other.
An ex-colleague told me the foul stuff that came out of her husband's mouth with regards to her anatomy as compared to his mistress' when he wanted out of the marriage! Right in front of their then seven-year old son too!
Also, if you live in HDB blocks, surely you must have heard the violent arguments of your neighbour(s) before when it became no holds barred?
