Wow! That's awfully thoughtful of your sister.Originally posted by fudgester:My sis saw that my finances were tight and gave me some money. $200, to be precise.
I know I should feel over the moon, but it feels pretty sucky having her give me that kind of money. I asked her to take back at least some of it, but she simply told me to 'save whatever you don't spend'.
Whatever the case, I just hope I can get the Sentosa job this Wednesday.![]()
Think of it this way, in the beginning, when you're just starting out, you will need a bit of help to get you started. Afterall, before you start work, you will need to purchase office wear and what-not to look presentable on the job, etc. You also won't get your first paycheck till about a month later and in the meantime, you'll need money to eat and for transport too.Originally posted by fudgester:My sis saw that my finances were tight and gave me some money. $200, to be precise.

She's working as a teacher in a local junior college. She teaches General Paper.Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Wow! That's awfully thoughtful of your sister.
Don't feel 'sucky' about it, though. I'm sure that, if the situation were reversed, you'd be more than willing to help her out with some cash too, right?
Assuming that the $200 wasn't a loan, it might be a nice gesture on your part to give her back the $200 once your financial situation improves.
Good luck on being able to secure the job at Sentosa. What'll you be doing there?
So which do you value more on the return flight: an empty seat beside you, or that same seat occupied by some good-looking, unattached hunk of a man?Originally posted by Rhonda:Ta!Yup, still in Singapore. Will be here till the last week of May. Haven't booked my tix yet cause still undecided on when to fly back. I'm trying to think which flight would be the most unpopular one so that the chances of having an empty seat beside me is greater!
