I've always used brandless pc assembled by the SLS shops. This time, SO and friends can shop for the pc parts for me (and I just have to pay ) and assemble the CPU at home.
I wonder - at the PC show: (a) can we do that - as in buy diff parts to assemble at home? Or (b) will we have to buy a ready-assemble pc? Or (c) can we specify the specs we want for the vendor to assemble later? -

I've been using my bro's bike for cycling trips... I think it's about time that I get my own.

*moth flies out* Or would you be interested in getting a 2nd hand or even 3rd hand (but well maintained) mtn bike...(will be a lot cheaper)? Sometimes, my friends who are giving up cycling will sell their bikes. -

At any rate, bikes aren't at the top of my most-wanted list right now... of greater priority is a new digicam, followed by a new PC.
My #$#%^ digicam malfunctions easily and sucks up battery life like a sponge.
My laptop is a cripple... its DVD-ROM drive, RAM chips, and wireless card have all failed at one point in time or another and had to be replaced. And the battery is shorting out as well... it goes dead within one hour at most. -

I'd put a new PC on the top of the list... but it sure as heck would cost more. Besides, I figure that my laptop should be able to last through my final year in NUS, as crippled as it may be.Originally posted by Wanda:Yes, I agree... more important things come first, definitely.
Then perhaps with my first real paycheck I'll go out to SLS and assemble the most powerful gaming desktop I can afford. Heck, I've visited the place, and from talking to the shopkeepers, I figure that I can put together a pretty good one for $1200.
