Objection! I was referring to VK being laughed at by Ang Mohs for placing the unedible stuff on the table instead of another plate leh. Not about Asian names!Originally posted by Rhonda:Flawed logic. Didn't you see what I said? If Brad Pitt goes to Korea or China or Japan, he'll still be known as Brad Pitt, not Pitt Brad.

Afterall, China and India are touted to go head-to-head as the next rising superpower. Would they dare adulterate the names of 1,329,349,388 PRC's (figures for 2006). And mind you, we haven't even started to include Chinese diaspora throughout the world!![]()

Zhang Ziyi is a bottom feeding, cock sucking whoreOriginally posted by fudgester:I think it was Zhang Ziyi herself who put her surname at the end in order to help her break into the Hollywood market.
But still, I don't why she should have to do that. Breaking into a foreign market is one thing; being proud of your heritage is another.
After all, Ioan Gruffuld (the guy who plays Mr Fantastic) has refused advice to change his Welsh name to the English equivalent, 'John Griffiths'. He was proud of his Welsh heritage, and would not want to do anything to affect it.
In his own words, "After all, we all learnt how to spelt 'Schwarzenegger' ".
Actual nametag of one of my army mates:Originally posted by viciouskitty74:Dont remind me of how I have to fill in forms for my malay or indian collegues.
And one time, I had to shorten some really long chinese names to fit a name tag.
Even my own full name wont go onto the nametag.
So finally, I gave up.
I put Surename first, their chinese name in initials & then their christen names that they preferred to be called.
I got so much complaints by the group of them, because they didnt like to have their own dialect name in initials.
BUT HEY! TAT TAG ONLY CAN TAKE 16 ALPHABETS! And by dunno who's stupid rules that I must have the dialect name up there instead of their preferred name.
So the End result die die has to be like this:
Chionh CB Alexander
