like for poly, the IT courses 26 pointers, each taking in a few hundred, but is the industry big enough for them?
i see many of them start to sell handphones or work as retail assistants, which means that their cert is useless.
so if u're a parent, and u see ur child struggling in the future, i doubt whether they can still feel happy?

Most singapore course is only catering to the singapore enviornment. Most with diplomas or certificates from Singapore, can only work within Singapore.
Their certs, training, experiences means they are stucked to working in Singapore. They go overseas, their qualifications is basically toliet paper.
Those few, with the foresight to pick up engineerings, medical & banking/accounting, has a better chance of moving internationally.
those in HR, Admin, law & some forms of IT are limited by the fact that sg does things differently then most part of the world. -

that my children does their basic secondary school education in singapore if possible.
and bring them elsewhere to finish off their tertiary education.
Singapore is still the safest to raise kids. Less possibity of drugs, pedophiles, undue influences. -

but soemtimes i think that its better that u struggle during ur childhood years till 20+, do reasonably well in ur studies, and get that cert that will enable u to live comfortably for the rest of ur life.
cause i have quite a few friends from pri sch that had too much freedom that they neglected their studies, and i think they might find the going tough in the future.
i think in the parents view that is more impt. actually i share the same view also. just that i'm too lazy to study hard. -
