How about you partition your hard disk and use one drive for all the operating system and programs, and save your other data in other drives, so that at last resort you can just reformat the thing ?

my sch threw it out after 1-2 years because almost every friend of mine who uses a toshiba will definitely has his/her laptop break down at least once in that 2 years.
at least dell is cheap, so if it spoils, u can't really complain too much, but toshiba is just plain farked up.

i guess i'm quite lucky. for my dell lappy, the only problem was that the internal fan is spoilt, so when playing games, it starts to alg after awhile due to the heat.
but for workno problem.
i only kana the blue screen of death once before, and its my fault..
cuz i was playing the game, it started lagging, i got pissed off and whack the underside of my laptop 3x, and tadaa. blue screen.
now its quite cranky, ever since that incident, like taking too long to load or being unable to shut down properly.
i guess, i accidentally dmg some part of my motherboard.

The Dell laptop my mom bought that she passed on to my bro has worked well for the past TWO AND A HALF years too.
And not having anybody to offer SERIOUS help and assistance to me here, and me being a complete sua ku where PC's are concerned because I've been PC-less for more than a year now, Dell and their on-site support suits me just fine.
Faced with no other VIABLE options, this is the only route I have. Now, if your sis or her techies don't mind driving up and down to my place or be on call 24/7 for the idiot problems I might run into, then I shall put my money wherever they say to.

their internal hardware is really kinda screwed up.
for the price of a toshiba, migth as well pay slightly more and get a fujitsu. -

for the price of a toshiba, migth as well pay slightly more and get a fujitsu. Only thing stopping me was, I didn't know where the hell their address for servicing was and cause I don't drive yet, I wouldn't be able to get anything serviced without paying through my nose for on-site servicing with them, so I abandoned the idea altogether. -
