  I gotta sleep early tonight.... I gotta wake up at 4.30 am tomorrow.

  I'll be taking the first shift tomorrow. 6.15 am - 2.45pm. Someone has to man the monorail stations when the first train comes at 7 am, and the person manning the Beach station would be..... yours truly.
  
  They would send taxis to pick up those who are doing the first shift from their homes. The thing is, since I live pretty far away from Sentosa and all taxis are shared, the taxi would have to pick me at around 5.15 am.
  
  Oh well... the first shift is the slackest shift of all.
  
  And it's my last day of work.

  Where are you planning to go? Oh well, it all depends how much you enjoy doing it by yourself? If you don't think you're going to enjoy it, then save up your $$ and do something else later.

  in between there's the mandatory ground run to be conducted on the aircraft.

  its not a good thing when things happen, especially on a weekend.
  usually it involves a dying or really sick person.
  
  but on weekdays, most of the time we feel silly while we standy (aka wait in the sun) for some aircraft that's experiencing some problem during flight. and it happens pretty often every month. sometimes up to 3-4 times a day.
  
  what the hell, when our own aircraft experiences problems we don't even standby ourselves.

  lots of very soft people these days
  
  to think what i went through, will be considered torture to them.. and it was nothing compared to the first lot which were trained by the Israelis..

  During my time, as tough as it was for a dork like me, I felt that it wasn't as tough as what I originally imagined it to be.
  
  Basket... RECs now get $450/month.... five-day workweek.... and their instructors can't even make them do more than 20 pushups at one go.
  
  Sometimes I get the feeling that NCC cadets have it worse than BMT recruits.
