in more hilarity in the office, the maintenance guys came to adjust the airconditioning... by rerouting the cold air from one vent to the other.. now the other side of the office is freezing
also, when the lady from the other section went to maintenance to get the keys, the boss arrived and opened the door -
they won't give everyone a set of keys... the bastards...
the locks are made by Kaba.. if you want a key, you have to send in the number to the makers in Germany and they will specially make a key for you.. cost = S$89

i think a key got replicated by someone before... someone who went to a place with a CNC
anyway, the problem with having unreasonably powerful airconditioning = your tea gets from 'too hot to drink' to cold very quickly -
our doors are locked by a electrical security system, need to key in the number.
that would save lots of problems.
other doors that require keys, can just go to the duplicate it anywhere -
my mileage now is 9600.
i'm supposed to get oil changed at 10,000.
do u guys send before or after 10K? -
erm.... my office no such prob. our recept come in early every day.. plus my lady boss is usually the 1st to have arrived. most ppl unwilling to take key. but i "unofficially" have the office key for obvious reasons

the stupidity of it all is that we have magnetic electronic locks and then we have bloody key locks..
the scary thing is that we almost got trapped in a corridor with 2 magnetic locks that decided to go screwy.. luckily, there was a door to a room in the corridor which was unlocked (it should have been locked) which we went through...
when they also wanted to install magnetic locks on the doors of the fire exits, i gave them hell.. i mean, how stupid can they be? if those locks decide to fail and lock, short of bashing the door down, there's no way to open the door.. and worse, they're fire doors.. which are made so that they can withstand intense fires for a few hours..Originally posted by kopiosatu:our doors are locked by a electrical security system, need to key in the number.

You know those you need to use a magnetic key or key in the code?
But my boss added a normal manual lock to the door as well coz apparently the lock for the digital lock don't work very well. If you yank the door hard enough, you can open it -

Some people that had their homes wired up with security systems with electronic locks actually ended up locked out or trapped within their homes when the sytems malfunctioned
