  only if it is one of those universal players that can play everything from multi-region DVDs, Divx, Windows Media etc etc etc AND you need the portability AND you need the ipod dock. if not its a waste of money.
  
  one of those el cheapo lg or enzer players will cost less than $100 and they are small, light, and can play everything.

  The ipod dock is for playing movies from ipods of friends. easier this way.

  i'm thinking of getting the 80GB iPod since my iPod mini has blown up.. actually it works but i think it's way too old and suddenly, the battery lasts like 15 minutes before it conks out.. and there's this distressing 'burn mark' on the screen...

  sigh....i wanted something to view my dvds on.....and possibly watch from friends ipods and use in thailand.....since i aint interested in their tv.

  view dvds, you can get the el-cheapo DVD players... they go for $39.90 at Giant... only drawback is that they support only 2.1 speakers

  I liked usa electronics. lots more stuffs.
  
  even has mounted under the counter dvd players with screens, radio clocks & those portable dvd player meant to mount onto the back of the car seats so children can watch their shows on long drives.
