if you live in the east, maybe can consider the one call samba at katong near the laksa places. cheaper too and i feel at least at the standard of the vivo one. but parking may be abit problematic.Originally posted by ShrodingersCat:I wanna ask abt the brazilian thing.. not the wax.. the buffet thingy...

maybe she thought contact included eye contactOriginally posted by the Bear:colleague who kena conjunctivitis has come back.. must have been pretty bad.. coz her eyes still look a bit swollen..
scary thing is the sheer ignorance...
until told by her doctor on thursday, she thought conjunctivitis is spread by other people looking at her eyes.. i'm serious
only when told by the doctors that the virus is spread through contact and how to avoid others getting it that she figured it out.. and even more amazing was that her whole family didn't know either.. by that time, her husband and her dad had already been strickened..
sometimes, i wonder... how people can still be so ignorant of basic things like that?
on the other hand, the park grabbing behaviour goes seom way towards explaining the park while not letting other pple go first behaviourOriginally posted by the Bear:also, today, driving to work was a pain and a half...
just outside my estate is a school.. during the school holidays, the place is a breeze to get through.. today is the first day of the 2nd semester.. and the whole place was crowded as heck.. took forever to get out of my estate..
the roads weren't any better.. the expressway was full of cars, most of them travelling at 85 or less when the speed limit is 90
oh well...
there's a story on BBC radio.. about queuing.. some people in Africa said that queuing is pointless in their country.. everyone pushes and shoves their way around...
i thought about sunday.. when i was waiting at a carpark... i looked on the other side of the carpark
this dude was aggressively driving around.. when someone got into his car, he accelerated really hard in a crowded carpark.. and promptly stopped in front of the car which was trying to get out.. by stopping there, he also blocked ca
rs from coming from the main road into the car park... the whole place was gridlocked.. but he refused to move.. even when he was actually blocking the car from leaving the lot he wanted!!
only after a lot of blaring of the horn by others and some hand gesturing, he moved a few feet, allowing the car to get out of the lot.. he then proceeded to park his car instead of letting the hugeass queue of cars move in first...
while this was happening, cars were moving off when i saw someone behind me start his engine.. a big pickup truck and some cars were exiting the carpark so i let them.. no point being like that asswipe and block everyone.. let them through first... just as the lot of them passed me, someone just zoomed up and parked in the lot i was waiting for..
doesn't matter, i thought.. i'll just wait a little while more..
and 2 minutes late, i got a park..
funny thing is that.. i was patiently waiting there for a parking lot.. the 2 other motorists saw me.. but they are not the least bit aware of their own boorish behaviour when they decided to grab a parking lot from those who were there before them...
makes me wonder about the children who also got out from their cars...
in happier news, i think tare's doggie will be well.. and i hope he gets used to his lampshade soon even if, thankfully, it'll be temporary

pple have different definitions of dignity as a human being.Originally posted by the Bear:i think this is the same question i've always asked of you..
was the parking lot worth your dignity as a human being?

i think i've pointed out differing values and point of views before too...
depends on your version of dignified, i won't an idea what they think. besides, there a possibility they may not even be aiming for dignified assigning no value to it.Originally posted by the Bear:here comes the rub...
is ignoring others for your own selfish gratification, and thinking yourself the centre of the universe while turning a blind eye to everyone else "being dignified" ?
seriously...
because this is essentially what those two did..
"aha!! a chance to screw the other guy over to my advantage"
that's something even some animals don't do..
