back to the wire issue, I hope what they're doing is extracting and melting down the copper instead of just using the stolen wire in their original form. >< -
oh.. a few weeks ago, they were saying China built about 1 power plant a week..
this week, they have upped the stats.. China is now building 2 power plants a week.. -

Also I am horrified at the idea that they will mish mash something out of chinese, malay and indian culture.
The Miss Singapore costume should be a shining example -
at least our stupid-looking buildings are not built in earthquake-prone areas
and think about the sub-standard materials they are always using.. makes one think the whole of Beijing is a ticking time-bomb

Talking about the durian - it was designed by some ang moh FT with the original concept of a glass dome. After the building was completed, they realised his design doesn't work in tropical Sg, and the aircon bills are going thru the roof. But the FT didn't care... So the problem was left to a local firm to solve, and that's how the durian was born.
