Look at it this way, at least it was free, for a good half year.Originally posted by the Bear:i had 6 months free car insurance from AIA..
fricken expensive *($#& for lousy coverage...
for 6 months, no one else could drive my car except the designated 'other driver' who was my sister!
and if my sister was to be driving the car and got into an accident, i'd only get a certain percentage of damages...
after the free 6 months, i went somewhere else...

As long as the tree falls on top of av and av falls on top of you. Problem solved.Originally posted by Keii:Remind me not to walk too close to you if we're gonna be walking under a whole stretch of trees. I'm not covered.
Okay, that is... so wrong. I'd still die anyway, only a matter of how gruesome, depending on the size of the tree.Originally posted by jetta:As long as the tree falls on top of av and av falls on top of you. Problem solved.![]()

If you think that's bad you'll be horrified at how much insurance can cost you. Even so, insure yourself the minute you start working, much cheaper and safer in the long run. (but make sure you buy something you can easily afford)Originally posted by fudgester:The only insurance I have would be my SAF group insurance.
$16/month for a coverage of $100,000. Normally at the end of each year they would refund me about half the premium I paid, depending on the number of claims they had over the previous year.
Been considering reducing my coverage.... $16/month is a little steep for students like me.![]()
Even better!Originally posted by the Bear:yeah.. but hey.. now i've got a cheaper one, gives me more damages and anyone who possesses a drivers' license can drive my car if i give permission.. and i'll get full damages..

Anything that's free will always have some benefits taken away. And anything free from a big company will always have lotsa crap benefits and funny regulations.
Heck. I don't even know how insurance works.
Its time to find outOriginally posted by the Bear:my folks bought a crapload for me when i was young...
now, i'm paying a lot for them
which is why i don't even know who the hell my agents are...
Well, you gotta understand that I don't have a stable income (I'm still studying, after all), and as such, $16/month is a little steep for me.Originally posted by av98m:If you think that's bad you'll be horrified at how much insurance can cost you. Just like us. While the hubby's still in the navy, insurance cost is exceptionally low. Once he retires and that's very very soon, it's a whole different cost.Originally posted by fudgester:Well, you gotta understand that I don't have a stable income (I'm still studying, after all), and as such, $16/month is a little steep for me.
That said, I may just hold on to the SAF group insurance for the rest of my life after I start studying.... while it doesn't come with perks, it provides pretty good coverage at a relatively low cost.
