  Basically, it's about wiping out everything on your hard disk and reinstalling everything all over again.
  
  It's used when your hard disk is infected by too much spyware and viruses.
  
  Also useful for drastic spring cleaning to clear out all the junk... which was what I did.

  Dun laff, but I'm using the firewall that's built into WinXP. I know many people have said it's inadequate, but so far I haven't had any problem with spyware or malware intrusions on my PCs.

  same here. i dun bother with any external firewalls. in fact most of the time my windows firewall is off cause it doesn't allows me to host games when its on.
  
  like i said, dun anyhow surf websites can already.

  I don't use firewall also (unless Win XP has a default one running in the background)...and all the viruses I know are caught by the anti-virus prog. Anyway, I don't go to dubious websites, so less risk.

  Anyway, most of the threats that I got to my computer were in the past, I guess... mainly because I used Limewire quite often in the past.
  
  I stopped about a couple of years ago after they started coming down hard on file-sharing. Since then I haven't downloaded any MP3s without paying for it (honest!).
