Speaking of which.... last Sunday I bought a screen protector out of concern that the touchscreen might get scratched.
In the end, while I was applying the touchscreen, a tiny speck of dirt somehow got in the way even though I had wiped it thoroughly beforehand with optical cloth. And when I applied the screen protector, the pressure caused the speck of dirt to somehow break into the touchscreen.
So now there's a small visible blotch on my touchscreen. It doesn't get in the way of gameplay, but it looks ugly. I'll probably show it to you guys during pub night.
And the sad thing is, it's not covered under the warranty... I've already double-checked with the Nintendo website. It states clearly that scratched and blotches on the screens are not covered under any warranty and that I would have to pay in full for any repairs to them.
And the really sad irony is.... applying the screen protector actually damaged the screen in my case.
