+ Come to think of it, the Jalan besar area had some really good hor fun cooked by hai lam kor when I was a kid...i could not find the same taste nowadays. -

SINGAPORE: Youth and front line workers will be the focus of this year's Speak Good English Movement.
Organisers hope music will move the message - local musicians like Shirlyn Tan, are helping to promote this year's initiative.
Along with ballads, books are also being launched to teach Singaporeans how to speak grammatically correct English in today's globalised world.
Says Jennifer Yin, Head Secretariat, Speak Good English Movement, "Workers are super important to Singapore. After all we are a city hub where people come for business. It is the centre of South East Asia so to a great extent, many people come through, tourists for example. It's very important for our GDP as well.
"It's really just being conscious. Listening to good music, reading good books, listening to how good English is spoken. That will come across and then it will become automatic after that." - CNA/yy

I mean, our gahmen welcomes people who can barely communicate in English with open arms(and some might say, legs). -
