Times have changed, cost of living has gone up, cost of being sick has gone up. Sure, we can still have kids and all that, but I don't think we can has as good a life as what my parents had.
So, we can't measure apples with chempedak.
In the past 5k income u can do lots
Plus these days you have to factor in that you kids cant' look after you and be happy that you don't have to look after them after they become adults

What they really hope for is that when they eventually do have their kids of their own, they'll treat them equally as good or maybe even better.

I got colleagues who together with their wives net over 10k monthly household income but say they cannot afford one kid.
But the office assistants earning like $800 a month and ther spouses make about the same amount, have multiple kids! -

Okay... I'm at an Internet cafe right now. It costs me RM4.00 per hour... but at least the connection here's a LOT better than the absymally slow speeds and dino-age computers back at the hostel.
Besides, it's time for me to start looking through the list of modules for next semester and figure out which ones to take. Sigh......
