Hmm...and all the bidding bec the all courses are now modular huh.

There are two accounts... Programme and General.Originally posted by Wanda:Is the bid point system skewed again engine fac or does it also affect other fac negatively, say Arts and Social Sciences?

no wonder u said that time there was a joker who bidded 1000 points for a core module which needed only 1 point.Originally posted by fudgester:There are two accounts... Programme and General.
We Engin guys get 750 points and 250 points respectively per semester. Other faculties get different point allocations... if I'm not wrong, Arts and Social Sciences get 400 points for General.
The Programme account is ostensibly for the core Engineering modules... so we supposedly get more as a result. In practice, though, our core modules are all virtually guaranteed to us. We end up bidding just one point for each core module.
On the other hand, the General account is needed to bid for cross-faculty modules. And because of our lower General account point allocation, we face a very severe disadvantage when bidding for those modules. And the really stupid thing is that we absolutely need a few cross-faculty modules that are not offered by Engin.
To illustrate what I mean.... at the moment I have 4350 Programme Account points (which are almost totally useless) and just 595 General Account points (which I desperately need).

For those who know about my rash problem..... it has improved slightly with the new antibiotics I took. All the blister-like rash is starting to dry and has stopped weeping.Unfortunately the itch is still there and I still can't get the sleep at night.
Anyway, at least there's an improvement.... I shouldn't complain. Just hope the itch will go soon!![]()

he was fed up with the system and just decided to watse his points that will neevr run out.![]()
yupz + as i said normally if you request they will open slots for you in the core modules.Originally posted by Wanda:Ahh...i see...thank you for the explanation, Hisoka and Fudge...i understand.
So those with more General points have a wider choice so to speak...and engine stu with only 250 have fewer choices. Do every core require the same amount of points to bid? Same for electives?
For Prog core...I assume there will be enough of such classes for every engine student, right, since some modules are progressive...as in having to take 101 before one can take 201 at the next level.
I will find out tomorrow. My antibiotic runs out tonight so hopefully the doctor will give me a repeat prescription as I believe I need it.Originally posted by the Bear:poor mousy..
