I only have one tick bite on my limb, the rest is just rash from the infection. I did have some rash on my face but it's not as bad as the rest of the body. I don't think the one on my face will leave scar (hope not).Originally posted by choco B:*HORRIFIED*
Do you have bites on the face? Or just limbs?
There was a business communication subject, but even that was part of the syllabus.Originally posted by stellazio:huh? only take core modules?

Got bitten by a tick when I was in Darwin.Originally posted by ShrodingersCat:u have tick bites?
ur own pets or from environment
better monitor no serious rash or fever
cos ticks sometimes carry disease.
have u had a blood test?Originally posted by honeymouse:Got bitten by a tick when I was in Darwin.
Ya, I think I have been infected by the disease........ have been suffering from rash for the last 3-4 weeks. Haven't been able to sleep well at night because of the itch.
Had the blood test done 2 weeks ago but for some reasons it took a while to get the result. I am going to see the specialist tomorrow so I will find out. In the mean time I have been given antibiotics to treat it and it seems to have improved my condition slightly.Originally posted by ShrodingersCat:have u had a blood test?

A tick is not a bed bug. It is usually found in the grassy area in some parts of Australia.Originally posted by InnoHippo:are u going to bring ur own bed wherever u go?

You can apply insect repellent on yourself and tuck your pants into your shoes when walking in area with long grass.Originally posted by InnoHippo:how to avoid grassy area?
thanks for the tipOriginally posted by honeymouse:You can apply insect repellent on yourself and tuck your pants into your shoes when walking in area with long grass.
Unfortunately I didn't think about that when I was in Darwin and I didn't take any precaution. The site I went to has very long grass (waist height) and I believe I got the tick from there.![]()
