hmmm the russian girl can't go on MSN because she has to go to an internet cafe to get check her mail.Originally posted by fudgester:I used to have a penpal from Brunei. Pretty sweet girl of my age.
We kept in touch for several years through snail mail. We then upgraded to MSN.
Eventually, though, she didn't come online for several months. I discovered (through a clone MSN account) that she had been blocking me. My messages to her through Friendster were ignored as well.
Sigh... sometimes I still wonder what brought about her change of heart.![]()

i need a new phone dammit, my old one (b4 the PDA) doesn't make any sound when a SMS comes in! and the battery is behaving like a punk.
but the damn new phones now cost like $400+?!?!?!
I doubt it.Originally posted by the Bear:maybe she got married
would you get a 2nd hand phone from those 2nd hand stores???Originally posted by the Bear:yeah
i'll wait until my phone totally dies on me.. it doesn't make sounds anyway
Did you come across to her as ...you know...that you like her? Maybe that scared her away?Originally posted by fudgester:I doubt it.
The last I heard of her, she was studying at some uni in KL. Heck, she actually tried to apply at NUS, but it was rejected.
I also doubt that it's a simple matter of her misplacing my address or anything... otherwise, I don't see any reason why she would want to block my MSN address or ignore my Friendster messages.
And even if she did get married and didn't want to keep in touch with me thereafter, would it have killed her to at least give me some closure and not leave me hanging in the balance?
Sigh.....![]()
Hmm? I dunno. I always thought that we had great chemistry. Take everything you know about me and reverse it 180 degrees... that pretty much sums up her character and personality.Originally posted by Wanda:Did you come across to her as ...you know...that you like her? Maybe that scared her away?

the guy in the post said its alright to meet up to check the phone.Originally posted by fudgester:I did that once. 3x Spider-Man comics worth a total of $10.
Even so, when he proposed that he mails me the comics and I transfer money into his POSB account, I insisted that we do a one-to-one meetup at an MRT station.
So it would be safe to buy from a stranger as long as you insist on one-to-one meetups. On top of that, tell the person beforehand that you want to inspect the goods first before handing over the money.
