And it taste very different from the sutchi fillets "Cream Dory" in our supermarkets

Oh Wanda and to answer your question, the so called Cream Dory served in Singapore is usually Sutchi fillet and not the real John Dory

I just think that the consumers here really need to be educated on the foods they eat if not kenna con leh
I will not order fish and chips if it is 'Cream Dory' here in SG if it is expensive coz the fish does not warrant the price tag, or I will clarify if it is the John Dory or the Sutchi fillet -
they are pretty good fighters .... can be caught in the reservoirs ....
btw .... they can be bought as "catfish" or "basa fish" .... though I wouldn't recommend eating them ....
all reared in China ... after the recent foodscare they disappeared from the supermarkets here .... so ............................... -

I know that AVA does not allow food with a certain lvl of antibiotics into Singapore
I dun eat that much Sutchi fillet - can't remember when was the last time
Otherwise for Zhi Char it will be a live Bating fish
Then again I might just die from too much mercury from eating too much Saba (mackeral) -
I just love to eat Grilled Saba
Grilled with miso or just grilled with salt with a squeeze of lemon is heavenly
And it don't help that I can buy beautiful IQF Saba fillets from the supermarket
And right now I'm tempted to buy the frozen rainbow trout too
